Well, here I am. A blogger. This is the same woman who in January spent six hours of her life desperately trying to set up a wireless printer that is still sat upstairs having never printed. The husband has now been tasked with that particular responsibility.
I'll start by telling you all why I'm doing this, what it's going to be all about and why it's a blog that you will have to follow.
I'm a Personal Coach, in fact, I'm a personal coach for professional women. After spending 10 years working in sales I had a baby girl, Philippa, she's a great baby who sleeps a lot (and as I type those very words she stirs from her slumber, typical!). Anyhoo, after reproducing I was faced with the same decisions most women are faced with, do I go back to work full time? Part time? Do I stay at home and lunch with other mummys or do I go self employed? After much internal debating that sounded a little like this; I was good at sales, I made a mint from it, I love lunching with other women, I'll miss the banter with colleagues, never being rudely awoken by the alarm at 6.30 is tempting, the thrill of the chase is so deeply ingrained what will I do to compensate, will baby babbling as my main conversation during the day keep me stimulated, honestly the thought process really is enough to drive a woman loopy. As you already guessed I retrained and became a Life Coach.
This blog is here to serve two purposes. The first, to be frank is to acquire new clients (you can't say I'm not honest!) and the second is to hopefully make us Life Coaches appear more normal, approachable, just like you. If you like this blog and it leads you to find a Life Coach of your own and that Life Coach isn't me that's cool, because the more people are coached the more more people will want to be coached, and that is good for my industry as a whole.
I know I've been really lucky to keep your attention this long, thank you so much, but I must dash to feed my daughter before her head starts to spin.
One more thing before I go. Later this week I'm going to do something that is either brave or stupid, I haven't decided which yet. One of the first things I always ask of clients is to set goals, 10 year goals to be precise. I'm going to practice what I preach and publish my 10 year goals online, for every Sarah, Lisa and Sue to read. Wish me luck!!!!
